The Scoop and The Skinny

So, I have been MIA from the Bella blog for a bit because I have had my hands full with another project. I am in the process of trying to open a brick and mortar store where I live and it has not been without problems. I was originally going to call the store Muses10, set everything up, got that ball rolling, thought I had all my ducks in a row, when, BAM! Something went horribly wrong. I won't bore you with all the details, but in the end Muses10 would not be approved by the secretary of state because it was too close a name to another store. So, that was terribly disheartening.

So, after I spent a few days whining and crying (and pouting and whining some more) I decided, just go with Bella LuElla; why reinvent the wheel? I had originally  strayed from using the name Bella LuElla because I feared the name was too feminine and I also have a following for my hair accessories and I thought it might be confusing with what I am planning on doing with the store.

What am I planning? Well, it won't just be my designs, but many, many local artist's works, as well as books and other gift items. More to come on that soon.

In the meantime, I need to fill you guys in what I have been doing, which has been a lot! The place where I am opening the store, used to be an old bookstore that belonged to my current landlord. He encountered some misfortunes and basically just abandoned his shop. Three years of dust gets pretty thick. On top of cleaning, moving stuff out and painting, I have had to do some decorating and making pretty.

I plan on posting photos this week of before and afters, and giving more updates. Right now, I am just trying to get my arms wrapped around this massive graphic overhaul. I have had to redo everything, but I won't whine about it, much :) Hence the new design you see on here now!

I am pretty graphically worn out this evening and got to get some chicken in the oven, but more to come in the next couple of days!
