Looking back at when I first began musing about doing this, I was in love with the space, but there was tons of work to be done, and there still is. The shop that will soon be Bella LuElla is an adorable little historic house build around 1888 I believe.
In the beginning I felt a bit overwhelmed with the work that needed to be done.
There was lots of cleaning out, scrubbing and painting. This used to be an old bookstore, but had been abandoned some years back, so the dust got a bit thick.
After much cleaning, painting and a little finishing, I got the space ready. I am hoping to start moving in local artist's wares in the next few weeks to begin inventorying.
Here are a few close ups of some fun little things I have been working on to add decorative touches.
And I am starting to funnel in some sweet little kids books and hoping to get my hands on a few Winnie the Pooh Cookbooks soon :) Along with some other books I would love to have in the shop.
I am also longing to get to start creating more myself. As of now, I have only gotten to do a few pieces around the shop, such as these little light lanterns.
And I have done a few other small things. The overhaul from having to redo all of the marketing material really zapped me. There is nothing like thinking you have everything in order, then having to start over from scratch. But, it had to be done. I have decided that since I am going to use the Bella LuElla name, I am going to make the marketing pieces a bit antiqued to match the house. The house really lends itself easily to Bella LuElla and am thinking this probably all worked out for the best.
Here is just a small sample of the graphic work, which will be similar across the board from the Facebook page, to the blogger to the website
And speaking of the website, I have gotten most of it up, still working on some parts, but it is coming along so be sure to check it too!
More to come soon!
